Low fares leader Jetstar is continuing its support of Thai communities and underprivileged children with its visit and delivery of donations to Wat Nicrotaram school, Chachengsao.
Jetstar crew members joined children at the school and provided school materials including tables, chairs and bookshelves. Jetstar led an internal donation drive in advance of the trip and collected clothing, school supplies and cash donations for the school.
Jetstar has a longstanding history of supporting communities where it operates throughout the region, In Thailand, this has included support of various health and educational projects that benefit underprivileged children.
In addition to staff initiatives, in 2007 Jetstar established the StarKids Program in partnership with World Vision, whereby passengers are encouraged to donate to World Vision projects which improve the lives of children in some of the region’s poorest communities, including in Thailand. Many Jetstar employees also donate directly through a direct Work Place Giving program.
Community-based initiatives that StarKids has already contributed to include a project to protect street children in Pattaya, Thailand, and another addressing food, nutrition and livelihoods for vulnerable children in Cambodia.
