OGILVY AND RESULTS THE FIRST TO SNAP 16 ASIAN ADVERTISING AWARDS

Bangokok--Apr 4--Orilvy & Mather Bangkok-based advertising agencies, Ogilvy & Mather (Thailand) Ltd and Results Advertising Ltd, were the first pair from Thailand to sweep 16 award at the prestigious 11th Asian Advertising Awards presentation held by MEDIA magazine in Hong Kong on March 26,1997. In sheer volume alone, the international recognition accorded to Thai creative work such as TV commercials and print ads is a significant leap forward not to mention heartening news for the Thai advertising industry. The 16 award-winning entries were selected by a panel of judges comprising internationally-renowned advertising creative persons. In total, more than 1,700 entries were submitted by agencies from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, China, Korea, the philippines and Thailand. Ogilvy & Mather (Thailand) won three Spikes and eight Certificates of Excellence, while its sister agency Results Advertising won two Spikes and two Certificates of Excellence at the latest Asian Advertising Awards for 1996 "We are very pleased and feel honoured to recieve the awards. "Achievement of the Asian Advertising Awards is further proof of our standards and commitment, adding to the large number of Bangkok Art Directors' Association (B.A.D.) awards just recently won locally." Results Advertising won the "Best of the Best Award" for the talk-of-the-town "Black Cat" TV commercial. Ogilvy & Mather (Thailand)'s three Spikes stemmed from three TV commercials, "Parking" for John Henry men's wear,"Dance" for Clairol Anti-dandruff shampoo, and "Bullet" for shoes. Results Advertising's two Spikes were for the"Black Cat" TV commercial campaign for Black Cat whisky in the categories of Alcoholic Beverages and Effectiveness. The two ad agencies also won 10 Certificates of Excellence between them. For Ogilvy & Mather (Thailand), the winning entries comprised the following TV commercials: "Bullet" for Converse shoes, "Weight Lifting" for Counterpain balm; "Hiking", Meeting" and "Fishing" for Samart Corporation's PostTel pager,and "Toilet1", "Toilet2" and "Parking" for John henry men's wear. Results Advertising won two Certificates of Excellence for the "CoolerClub" TV commercial campaign and "Gay" print ad for Cooler Club wine cooler. End
