Reaffirming its support of top-level international golfing events, Emirates, one of the world’s fastest-growing international airlines, is continuing its Official Airline partnership with the Thailand Open 2011, taking place at Suwon Golf & Country Club, Nakornpathom, from 11th August.
The highly anticipated tournament kicked off with a star-studded Pro-Am, which gave the local community including Emirates’ Skywards members, partners and sponsors the opportunity to play alongside some of the sport’s greats including Thailand’s own Thongchai Jaidee, Thaworn Wiratchant and Prayad Marksaeng.
Thailand Open 2011 brings a whole set of exciting Emirates initiatives, including the “Closest-to-the-Pin” contest held in conjunction with Tuesday’s Pro-Am and the “Spot-the-Cap” competition where a lucky winner stands to receive 105,000 Skywards Miles (equivalent to a return business class ticket to Dubai or two return Business Class tickets to Hong Kong).

Apart from sponsoring major high-profile tournaments around the world, Emirates also extends its support for golf by allowing passengers to check in a set of golf clubs free of charge in addition to their normal checked baggage allowance, in any class of service on all Emirates flights.
