Bangkok--18 Aug--Spark Communications
Thailand Open 2011 has come to an end with Andre Stolz claiming top spot with an impressive 22-under-par 266 taking home the grand first prize of US$180,000. First runner-up Prayad Marksaeng finished with a 20-under 268 and US$ 102,000 prize fund.
While 155 professional golfers were intensely contesting for the US$1,000,000 prize the past four days, spectators and golfing aficionados have been treated with a series of exciting initiatives by Emirates, one of the world’s fastest-growing international airlines. Following the Pro-Am Charity Closest-to-the-Pin, Emirates organised a golf clinic led by Michael Campbell and also the “Spot-the-Cap” competition where a lucky winner is entitled to 105,000 Skywards Miles (equivalent to a return business class ticket to Dubai or two return Business Class tickets to Hong Kong).
Apart from sponsoring major high-profile tournaments around the world, Emirates also extends its support for golf by allowing passengers to check in a set of golf clubs free of charge in addition to their normal checked baggage allowance, in any class of service on all Emirates flights.
