Michel Serrano, General Manager of Sofitel Centara Grand Bangkok has announced the appointment of Mr.Akihiro Izumi as Japanese Chef at “Hagi” Japanese restaurant of Sofitel Centara Grand Bangkok with immediate effect.
Chef Akihiro or Chef Aki has almost 30 years of experience in Japanese cuisine. Starting his career at the Chef School in Tokyo, he worked in several traditional Japanese restaurants in Tokyo for 6 years before moving to gain more experience in New York and Los Angeles for over 13 years and another 4 years as the Head Chef at Wasabi Sabi restaurant, a famous Japanese restaurant in Hong Kong. With his roots in traditional Japanese food and with great knowledge of modern trends and styles, Chef Izumi is going to make waves at new-look Hagi of Sofitel Centara Grand Bangkok. Prior to this appointment, Chef Aki was Executive Japanese Chef at JW Mariott Bangkok, for six years.
