Bangkok--20 Sep--Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit
Refreshingly different, BarSu’s wine tastings are the perfect blend of fine wines, exquisite light bites and good company, all enjoyed in chic surroundings.
On Thursday, September 22, 2011, BarSu and Vanichwathana invite you to chill-out in style as elegant bartendees uncork a selection of distinctive Delas Fr?res wines from France, each complimented by creative and delicious wapas dishes.
Delas Fr?res Winery skillfully combines tradition with modernity. Founded 160 years ago in the heart of the northern C?tes du Rh?ne region, the winery enjoyed the dynamism of its original founders and their heirs and more recently the renewed energy of the Lallier-Deutz family, owners of the Champagne house, Champagne Deutz. Crafted by winemaker Jacques Grange, recent Delas Fr?res vintages have consistently won high praise from The Wine Advocate, Robert Parker who said "This great northern Rh?ne producer, spearheaded by their brilliant oenologist and winemaker, Jacques Grange, has consistently made fabulous wines.”
Wine lovers at BarSu will be welcomed with a glass of Delas Fr?res Tavel La Comballe 2009 Ros?, a delicate wine with an enticing pink blush, a fruity nose and a hint of toasted almonds.
The first of five wines served with BarSu’s creative cuisine will be the light and tangy white, Saint Joseph Les Launes 2009 paired with cured ocean trout with spider crab and ruby grapefruit. The second wine of the evening will be the C?tes du Rh?ne Saint Esprit 2010, an engaging white wine accompanied by a delicious white fish dish, loup de mer with sauce pip?rade. The first red, a deep ruby C?tes Du Ventoux 2009 received 89 points from Robert Parker and will be served with an autumnal wild mushroom g?teau with port jus.
The next wine, the red C?tes du Rh?ne Saint Esprit 2009 was awarded 90 points by Robert Parker who said, “This brilliant wine is the best C?tes du Rh?ne I have ever tasted from Delas. The wine has great fruit, a sweet raspberry and black cherry nose with some herbs, licorice, and pepper.” Guests will enjoy it with succulent slow cooked lamb with mustard seed jus and black mission fig chutney. The last wine of the evening will be the Vacqueyras Domaine des Gen?ts 2009, a chewy but fresh mid-weight red that offers gentle sweet red berry flavors and a hint of spice. The seductive wine will be matched with hazelnut and guanaja chocolate financier with red wine cherry sherbet.
Five distinctive wines from the Delas Fr?res Winery and BarSu’s enticing appetizers dishes are only Baht 990.
