Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) speeds up on theestablishment of THAI Smile Air by launching it’s image based on the concept of Trendy-Friendly-Worthy.Mr. Piyasvasti Amranand, THAI President, revealed THAI Smile Air’s brand image,projecting the concept of a light-premium sub-brand of THAI that is Trendy-Friendly-Worthy. THAI Smile Air offers a new alternative for customers, with focus onmodernization and speed of service.
“Smile” in the sub-brand’s name represents friendliness and follows “THAI” whichrepresents quality and premium service. Hence, in combination, THAI Smile Air and itslogo convey light, friendly premium service. The THAI Smile Air aircraft livery designhas three ribbons streaming across its fuselage in cool pink, yellow, and orange, todemonstrate the THAI Smile Air’s image of Trendy-Friendly-Worthy.
This October, THAI Smile Air will begin its staff recruitment through Wingspan ServicesCompany Limited (THAI’s subsidiary company for outsourcing). In the first phase, 40pilots will be recruited in October and 100 female cabin crews will be recruited inNovember. Cabin crew qualifications include age less than 24 years, minimum height of165 cm, high school graduate with minimum TOEIC test score of 600. Candidates musthave friendly personality, enthusiasm and service mind.
THAI Smile Air expects eleven Airbus A320 to be delivered. The first aircraft delivery isin June 2012, the 2nd and 3rd aircraft delivery will be in August and the 4th aircraft deliverywill be in September. Thereafter, two A320s will be delivered in January and March 2013,respectively.
With THAI Smile Air having clear business and investment plans, flight operations canbegin July 2012. Initially THAI Smile Air will operate domestic flights such as UbonRatchathani, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Chiang Rai, and Surat Thani, and later withinternational routes focusing on ASEAN destinations such as China and India in 2013.
