Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) will offer passengers with a special Indian menu prepared by Mrs. Vinder Balbir, one of the five international chefs from Bangkok’s fine dining restaurants and five-star hotels.
Mr. Piyasvasti Amranand, THAI President, said that THAI takes great pleasure in welcoming passengers onboard and experience the “Chef Gallery by THAI” campaign. Five international chefs from Bangkok’s restaurants and five-star hotels will create special international inflight menus. Chef Vinder Balbir, the owner of Mrs. Balbir’s Indian restaurant specially designed and prepared unique Indian dishes onboard. The Indian dishes will be served on certain outbound routes from Bangkok to South Asia during the month of October 2011. Tandoori Fish Tikka (Chunky pieces of Red Snapper cooked on charcoal with herbs and spices) will be served as the main course, followed by Gulab Jamun (Deep dough balls glazed with rose water syrup), exclusively served in celebrating Diwali Festival, the celebration of freedom for Sikhs, Hindus and Jains, which is known as the "Festival of Lights" during October — November. At this time of year, South Asia glows with lamps. Chef Vinder Balbir’s unique Indian cuisine will be served on certain outbound routes from Bangkok to South Asia from 1-31 October 2011. Indian cuisine is available on flights departing from Bangkok to Delhi in all classes of travel and also on flights departing from Bangkok to Kolkata, Mumbai, Kathmandu, Dhaka, Bengaluru (Bangalor), Hyderabad and Chennai in Business and Economy Class. Noted that desserts are not served on flights that operate at breakfast time.
