Low fares leader Jetstar presented details of recent capacity increases and ongoing successes of its low cost carrier (LCC) strategy to attendees at the Corporate Travel World Conference.
Jetstar grew overall capacity by 19 percent in 2011. This includes 23 percent growth in domestic capacity in Australia and New Zealand, international capacity of 9 percent and Jetstar Asia of 46 percent. Overall passenger numbers grew 14 percent in comparison to the previous year.
Jetstar continues to expand its network and distribution channels with new interline and codeshare partners and by leveraging both current and prospective Asian franchise operations.
To enhance flexibility and convenience for corporate and leisure travelers, passengers can make online bookings with credit cards (Visa and Master Card) at jetstar.com.
All Jetstar passengers receive a comprehensive range of benefits and privileges under its Jetstar Customer Guarantee program.
Passengers who require flexibility for date/name changes can purchase Jetstar’s “Plus Bundle”, which offers a change fee waiver for date/name changes. Passengers who require refundability can purchase Jetstar “Max Bundle”, which offers passengers a change fee waiver and is refundable. The Bundles also include items of interest for the corporate market, such as included food/beverage, freeseat selection and Qantas Frequent Flyer points. Insurance can be purchased at a discounted rate as part of the booking process.
Jetstar’s enhanced fare product range presents new, simple fare options that provide more choice, flexibility and lower fares by allowing customers to select only what they need. Jetstar customers now start with the economy Starter fare (replacing JetSaver Light, JetSaver, JetFlex and JetPlus), then personalises their experience from an expanded range of options.
Jetstar’s commitment to Thailand is reflected in its consistently high seat ratio (average percentage of passengers per available seat on each flight) which remains in excess of 80 percent.
The Jetstar Group currently flies more than 10 flights per day to and from Thailand. This comprises the following routes and frequencies: a total of 82 flights per week between Thailand and Singapore/Australia; 21 return services per week between Bangkok to Singapore; 14 return services per week between Phuket and Singapore; 3 return flights per week between Phuket and Sydney; 3 return flights per week between Bangkok and Melbourne.
