Epson Introduces 21 Projectors for Full Market Coverage and Asserted Its Position as All-Time No.1 Projector Maker, Aiming for 40% Market Share

Bangkok--17 Oct--PRpedia Epson, the world’s top projector maker for ten years straight, has introduced 21 new products adding up to its projector line and declared to secure its leading position in the projector market by the end of 2011 with an aim for 40% market share, saying that the industry has been growing at an unceasing but steady pace and well-received in many customer groups especially enterprise, education and consumer. Mr. Eiji Kato, Country Manager, Epson (Thailand) Co., Ltd. revealed “For over a decade, Epson projector has been recognized as the world’s best image solution and we have been holding the leading position in Thailand’s projector market up until now. Thus, our significant mission is to maintain our current market leadership and to offer a wide range of products that enables us to meet the diversified needs of our customers. In order to do that, we are launching 21 new products at a stretch as we really believe this will help expand our market segments as well as lead Epson to new customers. On the plus side, users will have more options as they can match our high-quality projectors with their budgets, their uses and their lifestyles”. “The projector market is growing at healthier levels as enterprises and government offices increasingly look for projector investment or better replacements for their existing out-of-date ones. Schools and universities need projectors because the educational multimedia seems to involve more in classes and distance learning. On the home-theater projector side, the demand is increasing incessantly so we decided to roll out a great number of new products into the market to serve the growing needs of home use,” said Mr. Kato. Mr. Yunyong Muneemongkoltorn, Epson Thailand’s General Manager, disclosed that Epson has launched many series of innovative products at the same time in response to the increased needs of investment on mid-end and high-end projectors. Moreover, the company has also released products in home-entertainment section in order to help expand new customer segments. “Recently, Epson has employed effective marketing strategy through the distribution channels, which consequently resulted in a market growth. Many of our products, both business-use and home-use, are available at competitive prices, making them more affordable and accessible. Our projector sales in 2011 first half reached 100% growth or jumped by two-fold. On the other hand, the figure rose by 40% as compared to that of the same period of last year despite the ferocious competition in the market.” Mr. Yunyong also furthered that, in 2011’s second half, the company planned to execute its offensive marketing strategy in four ways. First, Epson would extend product groups to achieve broader market coverage. The launch of 21 new products was a part of this tactic as well as a penetration into new markets with 3D home-entertainment and Apple Device Dock projectors. “Next, we would strengthen our distribution channels by recruiting new business partners which would allow us to reach and take care of our target customers. Therefore, we have formed a team of projector specialists called ‘Epson VI Champion’ who will give useful advices and supports to our customers in each individual segment.” “Third, we intended to streamline our after-sales service which is considered one of our dominant advantages over the closest-ranked competitors by ensuring faster and more efficient solutions for our customers. The 3LCD projectors deliver true-to-life colors and smoother tonal gradations, consume 25% less power and produce no rainbow effect.” “All our 21 products introduced today are divided into five groups; Smart, Evolution, Short Throw Lens, Home Entertainment and Apple Device Dock. These projectors are specially crafted for all targets including the organization market--- both private and government, the agencies who needs helping hand for their presentation and the education market throughout the country, which is an important and continuously growing projector market, that seeks for educational multimedia support. Apart from this, we also highlight on our 3D home-entertainment and Apple Device Dock projectors, aimed for consumer market. These HD-ready products are the world’s first projectors designed for apple devices,” Mr. Yunyong continued. These 21 new Epson projectors consisted of nine models from the Smart Series which offer brightness ranging from 2,600 — 3,000 Ansi lumens. The products are economical, investment-worthy and perfect for business presentation, class room use as well as home entertainment purpose. Three SVGA projectors in S-series are EB-S02, EB-S11 and EB-S12 while other four XGA products in X-series are EB-X02, EB-X11, EB-X12 and EB-X14. The last two widescreen devices in W-series that offer HDMI input which delivers crisp and sharp images are EB-W02 and EB-W12. Products in the Evolution series are fit for enterprises, educational institues, hospitals and state agencies. Epson introduced five models in this series which are EB-1840W, EB-1850W, EB-1860, EB-1870 and EB-1880. These models are well-rounded, support various job requirements and are famous for their variety of connectivity. The devices also deliver brightness of up to 4,000 Ansi lumens, giving users sharp and vibrant images. Their key features include USB Display Function which allows users to connect USB device directly to projector, USB Memory Slide Show Function which automatically displays pictures once the USB port is connected, Quick Start Up and Instant Off Function ensuring swift setting-up and turning off and Screen Fit Function that automatically resizes the image to match with the edges of the screen in just one button click. EB-420, EB-430, EB-425W and EB-435W are the short-throw projectors in Short Throw Lens, considered the perfect partner for teachers. Their impressive short-throw capabilities allow them to be mounted closer to the screen (only 50-60 cm.), which means less shadows when presenting. Besides, these projectors deliver high-quality presentations and clear picture, ensuring that students can enjoy the comfort of short-throw during lessons no matter where they sit in the classroom. The debutant projector in Apple Device Dock group is Epson MG-850HD which can easily be connected to Iphone, Ipad and Ipod through the built-in dock. This Apple-friendly product comes with dual top-quality 10W speakers providing users unbeatable entertainment experiences in full high definition with what they have on their Apple gadgets --- movies, music and images. Epson also rolls out another two 3D projectors built for Home Entertainment use; EH-TW6000 and EH-TW8000. These two models provide the brightness at the highest level when compared to other products in 3D projector market. With maximum refresh rate of 480 Hz, it helps reducing time of an interpolated frame between each real 3D frame and Epson EH-TW8000 can magically convert 2D movie file to 3D. Mr. Yunyong said about the 2011’s corporate goal “this year, we have set the projector growth target at 50%, equaling 550 million Baht and determined to maintain our status as a market leader as well as firmly secure our no.1 position in image solution. We also plan to increase our market share to 40% using strategies as stated above.
