On Thursday November 17, 2011, BarSu and Canpac invite you to chill-out in style as elegant bartendees uncork a selection of renowned Berberana Wines from Spain, each complimented by delicious creative canap?s.
Founded in 1877 by Don Miguel Martinez Berberana, today Berberana Wines are Spain’s leading producer and have won international acclaim including numerous awards and commendations.
Wine lovers at the cool contemporary club will be welcomed with a glass of La Ina Fino Sherry N/V. Fresh and dry with plenty of apple character, the smooth sipping sherry is the quintessential Spanish aperitif to pair with cured Serrano ham, melon and bitter greens.
The first of five outstanding wines served with inspired cuisine from the BarSu kitchen will be Berberana Dragon Sauvignon Blanc 2008 accompanied by seared tuna, octopus, potato, citrus and olives. With an intense fragrance of ripe tropical fruits and an attractive yellow hue, this engaging full-flavoured wine delivers a crisp acidic finish that perfectly complements the seafood and olives.
The second wine of the evening will be Marques De Riscal “1860” 2008 Vinno De La Tiera matched with enticing croquettas de pollo with saffron and aioli. Produced using Tempranillo grapes and a small percentage of Syrah and Merlot for structure and complexity, the highly aromatic wine is aged in oak for six months for a lingering finish.
Next, BarSu’s oenophiles will enjoy Berberana Dragon Tempranillo 2005 paired with Manchego and Cabrales blue cheese and chorizo onion tart, followed by Berberana D’avolas Tempranillo, Rioja 2003 accompanied by a spice dusted lamb cutlet with roasted pimentos. The last wine of the evening will be the sparkling Unduraga Brut served with S?ville orange and almond cake.
