Orchard Road Christmas Light-up

Spectacular Christmas lighting will line our 2.2km world-famous shopping street. In 2010, the event was awarded Top 10 Frommers World’s Best Holiday Lights.
This year’s theme will be ‘Christmas Blooms in Singapore’, which will magically transform Orchard Road into a garden of scintillating lights. Orchard Road’s Best Dressed Building Contest will see buildings along the thoroughfare all decked out for Christmas. Up to S$275,000 worth of shopping vouchers from at least 11 different shopping malls are up for grabs.

Marina Bay Christmas Light-up

Christmas Alive at Marina Bay offers a treat for the senses featuring dramatic art, light and music across the Bay with a focus on nurturing young artistic and musical talents. This year will see Marina Bay working in partnership with premier tertiary art institution Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts to create multi-sensorial performances against the magnificent backdrop of Marina Bay the spirit of the season.
The streets from Raffles City, Suntec Singapore, Millenia Walk, Singapore Flyer, Marina Square, The Esplanade and The Fullerton Hotel will be lined with reindeers and snowflakes, and fairy lights on the trees.
A Fairy Tale Christmas at Resorts World Sentosa

Resorts World Sentosa presents a unique way to capture the spirit of Christmas with its inspired decor and programme of events. RWS is split into 5 different zones, with each zone highlighting a different aspect of the fairy tale concept. Christmas themed events and fairy tale mascots add to the festivities and entertainment, and fairy tale themed backdrops serve as perfect photo opportunities. Entertainment consists of daily carollers, bands, drummers and live performance acts.

Singapore’s most anticipated annual outdoor dance party at Siloso Beach @ Sentosa has been bringing together night revellers all over Asia for over a decade now. Organised by long-reigning superclub Zouk, this 14-hour dance music festival features world-class acts that span house, techno, trance, hip hop and electro, and has seen the likes of Carl Cox, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Sasha, David Guetta and others.
Marina Bay Singapore Countdown

Marina Bay Singapore Countdown takes place in the country’s symbolic centre and has grown in scale to become a memorable annual tradition. The Countdown unites all at Marina Bay to usher in new hopes and aspirations for the New Year, with the city skyline and a dazzling fireworks display as a stunning backdrop.
On 31 December, the Wishing Spheres visual art installation will transform Marina Bay into a bay of hope and light. Visitors and members of the community are invited to join in by penning their wishes for the New Year on a wishing sphere. The wishes will be marked by the launch of the spheres into Marina Bay to form part of a stunning visual arts display of 20,000 wishing spheres.
Live performances include a countdown show featuring regional artistes and local celebrities organised by MediaCorp TV5 at The Float @Marina Bay. There will also be a music concert at The Promontory @Marina Bay (TBC)

Elephant Parade

Elephant Parade is the largest open air art exhibition worldwide in preservation of the Asian elephant, painted by local and international artists. Over a period of several months, hundreds of brightly painted life-size art elephants ‘swarm’ and add colour to the streets of the city. After the exhibition, all elephants are auctioned by a professional auction house.
Standard Chartered Marathon 2011

The Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore 2011 is one of the highlights of the local sports calendar for 2011 and the marquee running event in Singapore.
