ASEAN (Thailand) Commodity Fair (CACF), China’s largest trade fair, has been held for more than 110 times and has grown to cover over 7,000 square meters, 300 booths, and 149 leading Chinese companies from Guangdong, Chongqing, Zhejiang, and Fujian provinces, exhibiting a wide range of products including electric appliances, construction materials, and household products. The fair will be held in Thailand for the first time starting January 6th until 9th, 2012 at Hall 5, Impact Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani.
Mr. Loy Joon How, General Manger of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd., which operates IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center Muang Thong Thani, said the company aims to expand the market next year with a focus in Asia. China will be the main target as it continues to show strong economic growth and Chinese products have become more competitive in Thailand. In the first five months this year, trade between China and ASEAN countries grew 27% over the same period last year. China’s imports from ASEAN rose 22.3% while China’s exports to ASEAN were up 33%. Therefore, IMPACT has brought the 2012 China — ASEAN (Thailand) Commodity Fair (CACF) or CANTON FAIR, China’s largest trade fair, to Thailand to provide opportunities to highlight new products and promote trade negotiations.
Mr. Li Wei, Deputy General Manager, CFTE Outbound Exhibition Company, said 2012 China — ASEAN (Thailand) Commodity Fair or CANTON FAIR is a large-scale trade show officially supported by China’s government including the Trade and Commerce Consulting Department of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, the Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of Guangdong, and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB). The fair is aimed at expanding trade opportunities among entrepreneurs and companies in the Asia.
This year’s fair will showcase a wide range of products, including ceramic pottery, motorcycles, automobiles and parts, construction equipment, and agricultural machinery and equipment. Exhibitors include leading companies such as Guangdong New Pearl Ceramics Import & Export Co., Ltd., Foshan Monalisa Industry Co., Ltd., Guangdong Dongpeng Ceramic Co., Ltd., and Foshan Oceano Ceramic Co., Ltd. Companies from Guangdong, Chongqing, Zhejiang, and Fujian provinces have a long-established reputation as manufacturing and import bases.
Mr. Li added that the fair would bring together exhibitors and leading organizations from all over the Asia, providing opportunities for better business channels, trade negotiations, cultural exchange, network expansion, and building business relationships.
Mr. Loy Joon How concluded that interested Thai entrepreneurs should not miss the CANTON FAIR as it is China’s largest trade show and will be held for the first time in Thailand. CANTON FAIR will take place from January 6th to 9th, 2012 at Hall 5, IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani.
