Centara Hotels & Resorts announced that three Centara hotels in Thailand will not extend its 25-year long agreements with Accor from January 2012.
The Sofitel Centara Grand Bangkok, Sofitel Centara Grand Resort and Villas Hua Hin, and the Novotel Centara Hat Yai will leave the Accor network and operate as individual Centara properties.
From 1st of January 2012, the Sofitel Centara Grand Bangkok will be known as Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok. This change is due to an amicable dissolving of long-term partnership between Centara and Accor, and a consequent rebranding of the hotel.
Having originally opened in 1983, the Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok is one of Bangkok’s longest-established five-star hotels. Ideally situated on Vibhavadee Rangist Highway, amidst the booming business district of Bangkok. The hotel offers panoramic views of lush greenery from the adjacent Chatuchak Park, as well as Bangkok’s spectacular skyline. The hotel provides an easy access to Suvarnabhumi International Airport which takes just over 30 minutes or only 15 minutes to downtown area. The underground Mass Rapid Transit and the BTS Skytrain are conveniently located nearby the hotel.

Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok recently completed a massive THB 800 million renovation programmed to renovate and upgrade all of its 565 guestrooms and suites, restaurants, event space, and other facilities.
