The Peninsula Bangkok’s Mei Jiang Chinese restaurant will herald the start of the year of the Dragon with an array of New Year ? la carte specialties and two auspicious set menus -“Fortune” and “Wealth” - to bring its guests luck during the coming year. Available from 18 to 26 January 2012, these will be served for lunch and dinner, accompanied by traditional candied fruits and gifts of lai see (“lucky money”).
As always, Jackie Ho, Executive Chinese Chef of The Peninsula Bangkok’s Mei Jiang restaurant and his team are drawing on their expertise to elevate authentic gourmet Cantonese cuisine to a new level with the following special menus they are creating for Chinese New Year:

“Yu Shang” salmon sashimi with shredded mixed vegetables
Double-boiled conpoy soup with bamboo fungus and capon chicken
Stewed sun-dried oysters with sea moss and shiitake mushrooms
Steamed prawns with eggplant in home-made XO Sauce

sweet and sour hawthorn sauce and pine nuts
