Bangkok--Oct 2--Thai Satellite Telecommunications
Recently, Thai Satellite Telecommunications Co., Ltd., has signed an agreement with Kyocera and DDI, for the formation of Iridium Southeast Asia Company Limited. Kyocera and DDI has invest US$50 million in Iridium Southeast Asia or ISEA.
Iridium Southeast Asia or ISEA, will be the gateway operator in the Southeast Asian region, providing and distributing services which include; the Iridium satellite mobile phone, the Iridium satellite pager, sales support and after sales services.
The objective of the joint venture is to strengthen the organizational structure for competitiveness in this business, whilst maximizing a premium standard in excellence. The consolidation of the three partners should provide a strong base with expertise in telecommunications, allowing expansion and further stability. In the immediate future, stability is to be achieved by the restructuring of existing TSC management teams into the administration of Iridium Southeast Asia, while Kyocera and DDI will be supporting the financial aspects.

As for the formation, Iridium Southeast Asia Company Limited has been established by 3 companies. They are TSC, Kyocera and DDI Corporations. The company will have a capital base of US$60 million for further advancement in the Iridium Satellite telecommunications project for the Southeast Asian region. Leadership of the new company will be under the direction of Mr.Piyabutra, Chief Executive Office, Mr.Ukrid Sresthaphunlarp as the Chief Operating Officer and Mr.Yoshinori Ando as Chief Financial Officer.
