VMware, Inc. announced the ‘VMware New Way of Work Study 2012’ that finds that 9 out of 10 respondents in Thailand use their own choice of personal portable device, web-based applications and customized software to get their work done.
This places Thailand (90 percent) in third position amongst the ten countries surveyed in the region, behind South Korea (95 percent) and China (94 percent).
When asked if they receive Corporate IT support for their personal portable devices, 35 percent of respondents said they do not receive support, while 63 percent said they would continue to use their choice of customized software or web-based applications to do their work — regardless of whether they received support or consent from their company's IT department. This was the highest of the countries surveyed.
VMware, the global leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructure, says this is an opportunity for companies to rethink how they deliver applications and services to employees, and implement the right cloud computing solutions that provide the glue that connects the web of devices that users choose to access to do their work.
