Bangkok Hospital Medical Center (BMC) will acquire exciting and innovative intensive care health services developed by New Zealand company Precept.
Bangkok Hospital Medical Center and Precept today signed a Memorandum of Understanding which will automatically collect patient data from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and integrate it in a single view of a complete electronic medical record. This technology will save time for nurses, by providing an instant overview of what is occurring in the medical ward. The benefit for patients will be fewer errors and a faster response time.
“What we liked about the New Zealand solution was the flexibility it provided, along with willingness to share and customise the software to meet the hospitals’ needs,” says Mr. Veerasak Kritsanapraphun, Deputy Managing Director, Greenline Synergy Company Limited.
Dr. Somsak Wankijcharoen, also from the hospital, says, “BMC’s ambition is to accumulate capabilities which enable a complete electronic medical record in near future and they believe that New Zealand Health IT companies with solutions such as smart ICU can help.”

This is not the first use of New Zealand medical technology in Thailand. Bangkok Dusit Medical centre also use a new Zealand health IT Solution.
“New Zealand is increasingly working with Thailand in this sector,” says New Zealand Trade Commissioner to Thailand, Karen Campbell, who was present at the ceremony. “Many of our companies offer solutions that are flexible enough to be tailored to the Thai market, but also have a proven track record in the best hospitals around the world.”
New Zealand’s global reputation is the result of a small population suited to piloting and refining health IT systems, a high uptake of electronic medical records and good underlying infrastructure in the New Zealand health sector.
Practice management software is estimated to be used in 95 percent of New Zealand general practices, with New Zealand doctors having the second-highest rate of electronic patient record
use in the world.
