Bangkok--24 Apr--AirAsia
AirAsia, Skytrax's best low-cost airline in the world for 3 years in a row, takes 15 lucky couples to experience the magic of seaside romance. After being selected from entries on AirAsia's Facebook page (Facebook.com/AirAsiaThailand), the 15 were flown in a brand new Airbus A 320 on AirAsia's Bangkok-Trang route to Anantra Si Kao Resort and Spa where they were welcomed by a mini-concert of Thailand's sweetest singers, Pop Calories Blah Blah and Rose Sirintip, this past 22-23 April.
After introducing the Bangkok-Trang route at the beginning of 2012, AirAsia saw an exceedingly positive response from both local and international travelers. The popularity of the route prompted AirAsia to increase its number of daily flights between Bangkok and Trang to 2 per day. Celebrating this new addition, the airline organized "AirAsia Meet&Sweet in Trang", allowing lovers to submit answers to the simple question "How many flights does AirAsia offer to Trang per week?" to Thai AirAsia's Facebook page. Fifteen lucky couples were selected for a romantic getaway and mini-concert on the seaside.
Tassapon Bijleveld, Thai AirAsia CEO, said that not only was the activity a celebration of AirAsia's 2 flights per day between Bangkok and Trang but also a great promotion of Trang province itself, a romantic destination that holds the title of most frequently chosen for wedding ceremonies with its tranquil ambiance and unique allure. AirAsia's low-cost services allow everyone to be able to make their way to Trang, boosting the local economy.
The CEO also spoke of the highlight of the activity, which was AirAsia's inviting of popular love songsters Pop Calories Blah Blah and Rose Sirintip, whose sweet voices set the romantic tone at Anantra Si Kao Resort and Spa, where the lucky couples were treated to a truly memorable evening.
