The delay of AirAsia flight FD3201 on 30 April, 2012, originally scheduled to depart from Nakhon Si Thammarat Airport at 08:40hrs and arrive at Suvarnabhumi International Airport at 09.55hrs, was due to a technical issue, which was an uncommon occurrence. A team of expert engineers were dispatched to carry out maintenance and return the aircraft to full working order in the best interests of passenger safety.
Once the engineering team completed its maintenance work, AirAsia provided the flight with a new schedule of departure from Nakhon Si Thammarat at 16.23hrs of the same day, without any stranded passengers.
With the delay of flight FD3201, AirAsia provided the utmost assistance measures for its passengers as demanded by regulations as follows:
1. Provided food and drink vouchers for passengers on the affected flight.
2. Passengers were offered the next earliest available flight or a flight to the same destination on a later date, at no cost.
3. Passengers were offered travel on other AirAsia routes, namely; Phuket-Bangkok and Hat Yai-Bangkok, at no cost.
4. Passengers were offered flights on other airlines with AirAsia taking responsibility for the incurred costs.
5. Refunded ticket costs for passengers who decided to cancel their flights (within the regulated timeframe).
6. Passengers were offered a credit shell option, which is valid for 90 days after it is issued.
AirAsia sincerely apologizes for any inconveniences caused. To show our commitment to our passengers, we will offer a full refund to cover the cost of the delayed flight.
