Bangkok--14 May--Aziam Burson-Marsteller HP recently organized the HP Mission Critical Seminar in Bangkok, Thailand. The event was held to provide business leaders, from a wide range of industries, with in-depth information about HP’s perspective on mission critical computing in today’s fast changing business environment as well as explore challenges and opportunities for CIOs and CEOs posed by current trends in business IT. This seminar followed HP’s announcement of “Project Odyssey,” which provided a development roadmap that will unify UNIX and x86 server architectures to bring industry-leading availability, increased performance and uncompromising client choice to a single platform. During the seminar Forrester Research provided over 160 business executives with current insights into mission critical industry trends including increased demands on global businesses from internal as well as external stakeholders for instantaneous connectivity and zero downtime. In addition seminar attendees got first hand information from Intel on its vision for the future of the Itanium chipset, which has been a critical component in HP’s mission critical servers. The relationship between successful mission critical computing and converged infrastructure was presented in the form of a detailed case study. The example highlighted the importance of the seamless integration of servers, network and storage assets in a single unified infrastructure running high performance software solutions. The case effectively demonstrated the power and scope of HP’s unparalleled hardware, software and service offerings to take Thai and multinational businesses to the next level of mission critical computing. The seminar concluded with a panel discussion on one of the most significant topics in enterprise computing today — how organizations can run mission critical applications and services in the cloud computing era. This discussion covered both the opportunities of high-performance, low-cost computing with the challenges of ensuring constant access and high security. The executives attending this seminar indicated that they were very satisfied with the event and expressed an interest in continuing to discuss how HP can assist them in enhancing their mission critical capabilities as they move forward. The event shows the power of HP and its ability to add value through the depth of its portfolio.
