Thai PM to visit Australia

Bangkok--18 May--InsideThaiGOV The Prime Minister of Thailand will visit Australia over four days later this month. Prime Minister Julia Gillard on Friday said Her Excellency Ms Yingluck Shinawatra would visit between May 26 to 29 in recognition of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Australia and Thailand. Her itinerary will include meetings in both the ACT and NSW, with a focus on trade, investment and tourism. Thailand is Australia's ninth largest trading partner overall, and its second largest in ASEAN. In 2010/11, two-way trade between the countries totalled nearly $20 billion. Prime Minister Yingluck, who will be accompanied by senior Thai ministers, and will also call on the Governor-General.
