Sasin Promotes Studies and Research to Prepare Thai Business for AEC, Joins Hands with TMA to Organize “Final Preparation to AEC” Seminars

Bangkok--29 May--Sasin Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University is concerned that Thai investors and SME’s might not be ready for the AEC. So Sasin is accelerating studies and research to prepare Thai SME owners to be ready to compete with AEC country members. Sasin has joined hands with TMA (Thailand Management Association) and MBA magazine to organize 5 seminars around the theme, “Final Preparation to AEC”, to brainstorm ideas to help increase Thai traders’ skills. The seminars will discuss the free flow of investment, products and brands, services, HR, and capital. Assistant Professor Kritika Kongsompong, Ph.D, Sasin’s Assistant Director for Marketing and PR, said, “The official start of the AEC in 2015 will further open economies among the 10 Southeast Asian member countries and pave the way for free investment cooperation in the region. Being a leading international business school, Sasin is now studying the readiness of Thai business for the AEC’s free economy, in particular on the issues of the “free flow of goods”, “free flow of services”, “free flow of investment”, “free flow of capital”, and “free flow of skilled labor”. Sasin has collaborated with TMA and MBA magazine to organize 5 free seminars entitled, “Final Preparation to AEC”. The seminar schedule is as follows: - Seminar 1 Free flow of investment 29 June 2012 - Seminar 2 Free flow of products and brands 5 July 2012 - Seminar 3 Free flow of services 9 August 2012 - Seminar 4 Free flow of HR 5 September 2012 - Seminar 5 Free flow of capital 10 October 2012 Prominent guest speakers who have extensive experience related to each topic will conduct each of the seminars. Assistant Professor Kritika Kongsompong further stated that, “In order to strengthen the ability of the Thai business sector to prepare for competition in the labor market with other ASEAN members, both the government and the private sector must help stimulate our human resources to be alert and ready for the AEC.
