The Pakistan Post has issued a special commemorative stamp celebrating the 50th anniversary of the visit of Their Majesties King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit to Pakistan.
Their Majesties paid a 12-day state visit to Pakistan from 11-22 March 1962.
The image on the commemorative stamp shows the Royal couple being warmly greeted and garlanded in the traditional way in Pakistan during the March 1962 visit.
According to Pakistan’s Ambassador to Thailand, H.E. Mr. Sohail Mahmood, this remains a landmark visit in the journey of friendship between Pakistan and Thailand.
The stamp has been issued in Pakistan on 5 May 2012, coinciding with the Coronation Day celebrations in Thailand.
