TNT Express Worldwide (Thailand) Co., Ltd., one of the leading international providers of integrated express services, wishes to invite its customers, partners and members of the public to take part in the world’s largest global event aimed at ending child hunger! This year is the 10th consecutive year that TNT is working with the Foundation for Child Development to organise “End Hunger: Walk the World.” For 2012, the Walk will be held on Sunday 10th June 2012, starting from the Princess Mother Memorial Park (by Central Ladprao) to Oishi Ratchayothin at 16.00 pm onwards. The walk itself will cover a distance of 1.2 kilometres. Then at 16.30 pm, Oishi Restaurant Ratchayothin will host TNT Family Party Day activities.
“End Hunger: Walk the World” was established in 2003 to raise funds and increase awareness for the World Food Programme’s endeavours to stop child hunger and malnutrition. The Walk is a joint effort between WFP and its corporate partner, TNT, whose employees will walk with World Food Programme (WFP) Goodwill Ambassadors, staff and partners to show solidarity in the fight against hunger and malnutrition. In 2011, an estimated 150,000 people took to the streets in 70 countries around the world to show their support for the work of the United Nations WFP. 2011’s Walk the World raised enough money to provide a whole year’s worth of meals for more than 10,000 people.
Alan Miu, Managing Director of TNT Express Worldwide (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said, “End Hunger: Walk the World has been very successful in its ten year history, and TNT keenly appreciates the huge levels of support we receive for this event year after year from the public, the media, TNT staff and our business partners. This year is particularly poignant because the event will channel its benevolent fundraising receipts for deployment within Thailand, with a specific aim of combating child hunger in our country via ‘Project for the Little Hungry’ under the Foundation for Child Development.”
Participants who join the Walk will wear a TNT “Walk the World” T-shirt (Available for purchase at the event for 200 Baht, and money will be donated to the foundation). People who join the walk from the park to the restaurant can join the Oishi buffet dinner FOR FREE. Those who do not wish to walk but want to join the buffet can do so for a cost of 50 Baht, again with proceeds going to the foundation.
