Dr. Sunate Chuenkitmongkol (left), Medical Director of Sanofi Pasteur Ltd., donated 1,000 doses of its innovative influenza vaccine to Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital as part of the "Love and Care through Vaccines" program. The donation was well received by Prof. Dr. Apichard Sukonthasarn (right), Head of Department of Medicine and Cardiovascular Division, Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University, at the hospital's Sripat Building.
The "Love and Care through Vaccines" program was conceived to raise the access level of disease immunities, improve accessibility of healthcare services to the general public and reduce loss of life to contagious diseases. Additionally, the initiative also seeks to raise awareness of the dangers of seasonal influenza among those facing high health risks, including people suffering from heart diseases and various chronic illnesses. The provision of flu vaccines under the program is in line with policies employed by the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, on healthcare measures for people suffering from chronic conditions.
