Just a year since LINE was launched on 23 June 2011, the number of registered users recorded 45 million as of 2 July 2012 and since then, this number has been increasing over 1 million users per week and now LINE has exceeded a total of 50 million users worldwide in merely 13 months after its release.
Now LINE has a record of being ranked number 1 in the Free Apps category at App Stores in 24 countries including Cambodia, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Taiwan, Thailand, Ukraine, Russia and its neighboring countries.
NHN is expecting to reach the 100 million users during 2012 by expanding its impact on the North American and Chinese markets. NHN will pursue this goal by continuing to increase user-friendly services as well as to make the service available on a wider range of devices together with multi-lingual support.
LINE Birzzle also in the run!
After the announcement at the ‘Hello, Friends in Tokyo’ conference held in Tokyo that NHN will evolve into a new platform service, the first gaming app of LINE, ‘LINE Birzzle’ has hit 5 million downloads within 3 weeks after its release on July 4th
