The world’s first Gourmet Bus was launched on 26th July 2012. It is not just a simple tour service but an innovative service the combines the panoramic views of one of the world’s most beautiful cities, Barcelona and an elegant haute-cuisine dinner. The double-decker luxury coach is unique in design; it is fitted with a glass roof to allow passengers to fully appreciate the view. It is decorated with the aesthetics of a restaurant, featuring a spacious dining area and a specially designed glass fronted preparation kitchen. The bus also has separate toilets for gentlemen and ladies.
The tasting service on board will be presented by prestigious Michelin-starred chef, Carles Gaig (http://www.restaurantgaig.com). Chef Carles with over 30 years of experience has enchanted the people of Barcelona with his dishes and is an institution where Catalan cuisine is concerned.
The bus is also equipped with the latest audio-visual technology. This allows guests to enjoy the latest technological innovations in the tourist sector. Every guest will have their own individual iPad through which, they can check out and listen to information on the tour in 11 different languages. The coach also has external cameras connected directly to each iPad, offering images of the route in both directions.
The panoramic tour includes Barcelona’s leading points of interest such as the Casa Batll?, la Pedrera, Sagrada Familia, Torre Agbar, Arc de Triomf, Port Olimpic, Pla?a d’Espanya & Montjuic Mountain.
There are two departure times from 5.30pm and 9.00pm and the duration of the service is approximately 3 hours and departs daily from Juli? Travel office, Ronda Universitat, 5. The entire tour is 95? per person. Due to the nature and duration of this service, it is not permitted for children under the age of three and not recommended for those under the age of seven.
