On April 30, 2025, in San Francisco, USA, World hosted its major annual event, At Last, led by co-founders Alex Blania and Sam Altman (CEO of ChatGPT). The event introduced two major advancements that bring the network's vision into everyday life: the upcoming launch of the Visa-enabled World Card, and a new integration with Circle's USDC and Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP V2). There're also a series of exciting new features aimed at upgrading and strengthening the World ecosystem in the age of AI and here's what has already begun.
The World Card: Your Digital Assets, Accepted Anywhere Visa Is
Later this year, World plans to launch the World Card, one of the world's first cards built for verified humans. The card will connect directly to a user's World App wallet, enabling them to spend their digital assets anywhere Visa is accepted at more than 150 million locations globally, both online and in physical stores.
Merchants will receive fiat currency seamlessly, while users gain the flexibility to spend WLD and other digital assets with no manual conversions or transfers. The World Card is also expected to offer a first-of-its-kind rewards program optimized for the AI era, with users earning WLD rewards on AI subscriptions and services paid directly to their connected wallet.
The card will first be available in the U.S. later this year, with additional markets under exploration.
USDC on World: Faster, Safer, and More Global
In a second milestone, World is partnering with Circle to bring native USDC and CCTP V2 to World Chain, replacing existing bridged USDC with a fully regulated, natively-issued version.
The upgrade gives 25M+ users across 160+ countries fast, reliable access to a trusted digital dollar. With CCTP V2, users can transfer USDC across chains with lower fees, while developers can build it into financial apps across World's growing Mini App ecosystem.
This integration unlocks powerful capabilities for global payments, cross-border payroll, and on/off ramps through Circle Mint for eligible businesses. Native USDC will also support future expansion into EURC, deepening the network's reach in international finance.
Together, the Visa-enabled World Card and Circle's USDC bring World closer to its vision of becoming the world's most accessible human-centric financial layer bridging digital assets and real-world utility at global scale.
A More Human Internet, From Finance to Real Connections
Building on this momentum, World officially launched in the United States, expanding access to World ID and the World App across six key tech hubs Atlanta, Austin, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, and San Francisco-- and access the full World App experience, including a WLD token airdrop. World's NVIDIA-powered Orbs will be available across the country through World Spaces and partner locations, including select Razer stores.
In parallel, World unveiled a partnership with Match Group to pilot privacy-first age and identity verification on Tinder in Japan. This collaboration aims to make online dating safer and more authentic by ensuring users connect with real people not bots.
Expanding Inclusive Finance with Mini Apps
To further broaden access to open finance, World introduced two new Mini Apps: Morpho, which unlocks permissionless DeFi lending and borrowing for over 25 million users; and Kalshi, which brings regulated, real-money prediction markets into the app. With features like human-first gas relief and verified-user rewards, these tools support World's mission to build transparent, engaging financial experiences designed for verified humans.
Looking Ahead
With these announcements, World's San Francisco event marks a major leap forward unveiling a wave of innovations that blend identity, finance, and digital trust into real-world impact. It's a glimpse into a future where being human is your most valuable credential.
These tools not only unlock new global possibilities, but also hold immense potential for countries like Thailand where digital transformation is accelerating. From secure financial access to preventing online fraud, World's technologies can help build safer, more inclusive systems for the AI era. As Thailand continues to expand its digital infrastructure, innovations like the World Card, USDC integration, and human-centric DeFi offer a blueprint for a trusted, fraud-resistant future powered by verified humans.
