depa is advancing the Digital Skill Roadmap mechanism by launching the first 100 officially registered courses. Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, President/CEO of Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), announced the framework for Thailand's Digital Skill Roadmap. The event was attended by executives from government agencies, private sector organizations, and academic institutions at the depa Headquarters on Lat Phrao 10 Road. During the keynote speech titled "Digital Skill Roadmap: Thai People Learn, Thailand Survives," Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuttapon emphasized that developing Thailand's digital workforce is one of depa's top priorities. This mission has been continuously driven through close collaboration with partner networks, aiming to ensure that people of all groups and ages across the country can learn and apply digital technology to maximize its benefits.
Asst. These programs cover key areas such as AI & Data, Cloud, Cybersecurity, Digital Marketing, and more with over 100 courses now officially registered under Thailand's Digital Skill Roadmap. The programs are designed to accommodate learners of all levels, from beginners to advanced professionals, and are categorized into three groups: Digital Skill for All - Foundational digital skills for everyone, Digital-driven Career - Digital skills for modern, technology-driven careers and Digital Professional - Advanced digital skills for specialized digital professions. The initiative is supported by the depa Digital Manpower Fund, which offers digital skill coupons to facilitate access to the registered courses. In addition, depa has partnered with the Revenue Department under the Ministry of Finance to promote digital skill development and employment through tax incentive measures. Businesses that enroll their employees in training programs registered under the Digital Skill Roadmap are eligible for a corporate income tax deduction of up to 250% on related expenses. Furthermore, companies hiring individuals with digital skills aligned with the Digital Skill Roadmap with skill sets specified in the Revenue Department's Notification No. 440 on criteria, methods, and conditions for corporate income tax exemption will receive a corporate income tax deduction of up to 150% on the salary expenses for such individuals. The eligible salary expenses are capped of 100,000 THB per person per month, for a maximum of 12 months per person.
"Driving tangible Digital Transformation relies on three key factors: Digital Disruption, Infrastructure, and Manpower with human capital being the most critical element. The Digital Skill Roadmap designed by depa brings together global tech leaders to co-develop curricula, while other sectors with specific skill demands can also participate in shaping these programs, forming a 'Train for the Future' process. depa aims to expand the number of endorsed digital skill courses to over 500 by 2027, with the goal of producing at least 1 million digital talents per year. These skilled individuals will become a vital driving force for enhancing business opportunities, not only by increasing organizational productivity but also by contributing advanced expertise to elevate Thailand's digital products and services to international standards. This, in turn, will attract greater investment into the country. Ultimately, depa's comprehensive efforts will serve as a key mechanism to strengthen Thailand's competitiveness. We must begin today to ensure that Thailand can thrive in the digital era when Thais learn, Thailand survives," concluded the President/CEO of depa
