
Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Digital Economy and Society along with Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation presided over the launch of the ODOS Summer Camp lottery draw and interview sessions. The government affirms its commitment to ensuring equal opportunities for all Thai youth nationwide, to help shape a strong and prosperous future for the country.
Mr. Prasert Jantararuangtong, Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Digital Economy and Society along with Ms. Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation and Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, President/CEO of Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) opened ceremony of the ODOS Summer Camp Selection Day activities, featuring the course/country draw and interview process for the ODOS Summer Camp project. The event was attended by Dr. Warin Ratchananusorn, Acting Senior Executive Vice President of depa, serving as the project director who reported on the project's background at the Bangkok Convention Centre, 22nd Floor, Centara Grand at CentralWorld.

Mr. Prasert stated that the Outstanding Development Opportunity Scholarship (ODOS) project is an extension of the previous 1 District 1 Scholarship program, but with expanded opportunities for children and youth who are the nation's vital force. The program aims to broaden perspectives and strengthen essential 21st-century skills. The ODOS Summer Camp, offering 928 free scholarships, represents the government's commitment to delivering 'opportunities' to Thai youth.
On behalf of the government, the Deputy Prime Minister congratulated all 928 students representing 878 districts nationwide and 50 districts in Bangkok who successfully passed the rigorous selection process and reached the final selection round, which includes the course/country draw and interview with the expert committee today.
"The government prioritizes creating comprehensive opportunities for Thai youth in every province. Youth selected for the ODOS Summer Camp project will receive access to education from leading educational institutions and global technology companies, including AWS, Google, Microsoft, Huawei, Alibaba, Nokia, Canva, LinkedIn, Sony, Nintendo, and others. The government believes that learning opportunities should not be confined to the classroom. Furthermore, youth will have the opportunity to find inspiration that will help adjust their perspectives and make their dreams clearer, including opportunities to create a new generation for the country that is not only globally aware but also brave enough to dream and take action. We sincerely hope that the opportunities these students receive will be valuable assets for their lives, and we ask everyone to gather all knowledge and experiences before returning to pass on and share with their peers to inspire and create a great future for Thailand," Mr. Prasert said.
Dr. Warin revealed that the Cabinet has assigned the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society through depa as the main agency to implement the ODOS Summer Camp project. This 5 - 6 weeks short-term curriculum provides opportunities for students aged no more than 19 years from 878 districts nationwide and 50 districts in Bangkok, totaling 928 representatives, to experience living and studying at leading universities in 9 countries: the United States, United Kingdom, Finland, Estonia, Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, across 16 curricula. The program aims to enhance digital skills from global technology company owners and find inspiration to continue toward higher-level study tracks and future career paths.
