The “Two Turinos” will host two exquisite wine dinners at Rossini’s on Friday August 24 and Friday August 31, 2012.
On Friday August 24 Chef Alfredo will serve a sublime 5-course menu of authentic Italian cuisine perfectly paired with fine wines carefully chosen by Giulio Saverino. Highlights will include an appetizer of baby squid with green peas and squid ink “bruschetta” complemented by Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Riserva from Italy. Diners will also savor the Michelin star chef’s outstanding lobster tortelli with zucchini and lobster bisque matched with the elegant Mersault Poruzots 1er Cru, Louis Latour 2006 from France, and Pecorino cheese cream with vegetables, extra virgin olive oil and bread served with Giulio’s choice of Brunello di Montalcino, Casanova di Neri Toscana 2006 from Italy. The enchanting evening will end with a “Taste of Cassata”, a memorable dessert of pistachio, lemon and ricotta paired with Moscato D’Asti Bosc D’La Rei, Batasiolo, Piemonte 2010 from Italy, and followed by coffee or tea and biscotti.
On Friday August 31 the “Two Turinos” take diners on an extraordinary culinary journey at their special “Wine Dinner by Flavors”. At the unique dining event, Chef Alfredo’s creative menu of dishes inspired by mint, saffron, cloves, thyme and cinnamon will be paired with exceptional wines skilfully chosen by Giulio to complement the dominant aromatics. The 5-course dinner will include grilled sea bream with buffalo mozzarella and fresh peppermint matched with Sauvignon Winkl, Cantine Terlano, Alto Adige2010 from Italy, and warm endive salad, carrots, celeriac, fresh peas, fava beans and saffron aroma enhanced by Chardonnay Craighall, Ata Rangi, Martinborough 2008 from New Zealand. Diners will also enjoy the ideal pairing of Parmesan risotto, bacon and cloves with Marques de Riscal, Rioja Reserva 2006 from Spain, and a notable dessert of espresso coffee iced cream in and frothy cinnamon served with Muscat de Beaumes de Venice, Domaine de Bernadine, Cote du Rhone 2010 from France.
