From one city to every province: making transport more accessible and affordable for all
Bolt, the leading European mobility platform, proudly marks its five-year anniversary in Thailand. Launched in Bangkok in 2020, Bolt has in just five years expanded into a nationwide service, now connecting millions of riders and drivers across every province. Today, Bolt reaffirms its mission to make urban transportation more accessible, efficient, and more affordable for everyone.

We're immensely proud of how far we've come," said Nathadon Suksiritarnan, General Manager of Bolt Thailand. "From our first ride in Bangkok to serving communities nationwide, our growth reflects the trust our riders and drivers place in us, and our belief in building a mobility ecosystem that works for all. We especially want to thank our partner drivers and riders for their trust and support in Bolt."
To mark this milestone, Bolt hosted a nationwide anniversary campaign and event that highlights both the company's journey and its commitment to Thai communities.
- Anniversary Film & Artwork - In collaboration with Moioh Studio, Bolt released a handcrafted video celebrating its five-year journey in Thailand. The film uses artwork made from recycled paper, which will later be transformed into meaningful art pieces and donated to the the Mirror Foundation and the Chaiwana Foundation (มูลนิธิกระจกเงาและมูลนิธิไชยวนา).
- Anniversary Event at Suan Kru A-ngoon (สวนครูองุ่น) - Partnering with the Mirror Foundation and the Chaiwana Foundation, Bolt hosted its celebration at this green learning space in Bangkok. Event rental fees will directly support the Foundation's disaster relief and community development projects, while also funding landscape renovations to make the space even more welcoming for the public.
By the end of the event, 108 second-hand items and 210 tree saplings were donated, contributing to greener and kinder cities.
Alongside this milestone, Bolt is introducing the Family Profile feature in Thailand as part of the five-year anniversary, designed to make ride-hailing easier for households and support networks. The feature allows one person to manage and pay for rides for up to nine others under a single account. Account holders can set spending limits, track live rides, and receive notifications, while members enjoy the flexibility of ordering rides independently. This launch addresses the reality that 2-6% of Bolt rides are already ordered for someone else, often requiring manual coordination.
Family Profile provides a simple solution for:
- Caregivers supporting older relatives
- Families managing household transport
- Anyone coordinating shared rides with ease and oversight
All Family Profile members must have their own Bolt account and be over 18, ensuring consistency with Bolt's existing safety and eligibility policies.
"At Bolt, we want to make ride-hailing work for the way people actually move," added Nathadon. "Family Profile is about control, visibility, and freedom, whether you're supporting older relatives or simply making it easier for loved ones to travel safely."
As Thailand accelerates its Smart City initiatives and urban transport development, Bolt remains committed to supporting this transformation with innovative, inclusive, and community-driven solutions. With five years already behind it, Bolt is poised to continue delivering safer, greener, and more affordable transport options nationwide.
Bolt also operates with Bolt Business in Thailand. Bolt Business makes it easier for businesses and their employees to use the Bolt app for business travel.
