Bangkok--20 Aug--Sasin For over 30 years, Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University (SASIN) has been educating and producing quality graduates whose career success has helped Thailand earn international recognition. In addition to marketing and business administration, many Sasin alumni have gone on to study and graduate in many other fields including medicine, pharmacy studies, media, engineering and computer programing. Regardless of their backgrounds when they came to study at Sasin and regardless of where their careers have led them after graduation, all of them shared an identical goal; to find an opportunity to study here in Thailand in an internationally accredited and accepted graduate business program with like-minded individuals and join the Kingdom’s leading network of graduates. Mr. Wiwat Kromadit, senior construction manager for AMATA Corporation Public Company Limited, explained: “Presently, I am studying at Sasin and although my work involves the construction side of industrial estates, as an executive, I need to have knowledge of other issues necessary for effective management, such as finance and accounting. I chose Sasin because of their superior academic reputation and international recognition. More importantly, enrolling in Sasin gave me a chance to get to know classmates from many other professions, which has helped me to create strong networks of friends I know will be important in my career.” Mr. Wiwat also talked about AMATA Corporation’s two industrial estates, AMAT Nakorn Industrial Estate in Chonburi, and AMATA City Industrial Estate in Rayong, each with an estimated area of 20,000 rai. Currently, AMATA Corporation is planning to expand its base abroad, with feasibility studies now underway. One of the target countries for industrial estate investment is Vietnam in Dong Nai Province. Impressed with the success enjoyed by the management team at AMATA Nakorn Industrial Estate, currently ranked first in ASEAN and fifth in Asia, the Vietnamese government is planning to build new infrastructure to support an industrial estate. In addition, AMATA Corporation recently undertook a new business project in Dawei City, Myanmar. With as much as 200,000 rai, it is anticipated construction will take five years. Currently, the project is being negotiated with investors from overseas, including Japan, which has the technological expertise, and China, which is interested in providing funding. Once the industrial estate project in Dawei is finished, it will be the world’s largest. Mr. Wiwat also pointed out that, “In the future, we plan to turn all our industrial estates in Thailand, Vietnam and Myanmar into a ‘Perfect City’. In particular, the industrial estate in Dawei has gained interest from investors worldwide, as Myanmar is much larger than Thailand in both size and in terms of natural resources. The Dawei project will be the world’s largest industrial estate and will be home to heavy industries in an estate set-up to operate on a 24-hour manufacturing schedule. It is expected that businesses will establish a manufacturing base there once the deep-sea port at Dawei is completed. This port will shorten the distance and change the route that sea-bound goods in Asia will take.” He added, “To develop an industrial estate is not an easy task, especially when the goal is to not render anything less than perfect. And to achieve that goal, we need cooperation from all investors involved — we need all industries in the industrial estate to comply with the rules.” In light of this, AMATA Nakorn Industrial Estate strictly monitors its compliance issues, in particular ISO 14000 certification on environmental protection. AMATA Nakorn Industrial Estate is environmentally friendly, based on tests applied to all factories, in all areas including noise, air, wastewater and hazardous waste.
