Conrad Bangkok announces a new entry submission date for The 6th Annual Conrad Young Musician of Thailand Competition 2012 to compete for The Royal Trophy given by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
The new deadline, 15th September, 2012, will allow potential candidates additional time to prepare their recorded performance that must be submitted with the competition's entry form by post or by hand to

The recorded performance must comprise of two pieces (one fast and the other slow tempo) of western classical music with a maximum total length of 10 minutes.
The 6th Annual Conrad Young Musician of Thailand Competition 2012 recognizes Thailand's young performers in western classical music demonstrating exceptional talent in one of five categories namely piano, string, woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments.
To participate, candidates must be between 14 and 22 years of age on the 29th October, 2012 and must be Thai nationals or expatriates who have been living in Thailand for at least one year, and are currently residing in Thailand. Candidate's entry must be endorsed by his or her university, school or musical academy.
M.L.Usni Pramoj, Honorary Advisor together with Chris Craker, former General Manager and Senior Vice President of Sony BMG Masterworks International will be the competition's presiding judges that will select a maximum of 30 candidates to proceed to the second round of the competition known as Evaluation Days.
Evaluation Days will be on 13th October, 2012 where selected candidates will be invited to Conrad Bangkok to perform in front of a panel of judges.
The Final will take place at the Ballroom of Conrad Bangkok on 29th October, 2012 in the presence of invited guests, country ambassadors, corporate guests and members of the media.
The overall winner will receive the following prizes:
The Royal Trophy given by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej
Baht 100,000 cash prize
Trip and accommodation package to Hong Kong or Singapore (for two) and an opportunity to perform in a concert and attend master classes.
The 6th Annual Conrad Young Musician of Thailand Competition 2012 is co-organized by Privy Councillor M.L. Usni Pramoj and Conrad Bangkok in partnership with BMW (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Siam Music Yamaha Co., Ltd. and The Post Publishing PCL.
