Regarded as Asia’s premier health and fitness event, the Asia Fitness Convention (AFC), is being held for the fourth consecutive year in Thailand, and will for the first time provide a platform for aspiring fitness trainers to ‘fast-track’ their careers by participating in a “Fitness Idol” contest.
In line with this year’s theme of “Inspiration + Passion = Transformation”, the “AFC Fitness Idol 2012” will offer the opportunity to amateur or professional group or personal fitness trainers to be ‘discovered’, acclaimed and acknowledged by international peers, and become a future presenter at the AFC next year.
Open to only AFC 2012 participants, interested trainers can apply online from now until September 15, 2012 at www.asia-fitness.com by submitting a 5 - 10 minute YouTube video showing them teaching any type of fitness class such as cardio, strength, flexibility, performance or fusion in English. The videos will then be screened, and semi-finalists will be announced on October 1, 2012. Each semi-finalist will be required to prepare a 4-minute audition on Friday, October 19th from 6:00 — 7:00 p.m. in front of other AFC 2012 delegates and a panel of distinguished world-class fitness professionals. Five finalists will be selected, and will be invited to compete in the final round by doing an on-stage instructor presentation again in front of all AFC 2012 delegates on Saturday, October 20th with the winner being announced during the AFC 2012 Saturday Night Party.
AFC 2012, co-organized by Kenes Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Fitness Innovations (Thailand) Ltd., will be held during October 19 — 21, 2012 at the Dusit Thani Hotel, Pattaya. In 2011, over 600 fitness and health enthusiasts and professionals converged from all over the world to network, learn and experience the latest exercise equipment and techniques, training trends and nutrition tips. This year, it is envisaged that there will be nearly 800 participants.
The fee to participate in the 3 full day event is Baht 12,990, while registration fees for 2-day and 1-day participation are Baht 11,190 and Baht 8,290, respectively from now until September 30, 2012. Visit www.asia-fitness.com for further information and registration details.
