Photo Release: Special Stamp issued to commemorate 50th anniversary of Their Majesties’ State Visit to Pakistan

Bangkok--31 Aug--The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan At a ceremony presided over by ICT Minister Group Captain Anudith Nakornthap recently, a special stamp marking the 50th anniversary of the state visit of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit to Pakistan was unveiled. The personalized stamp has been issued with joint collaboration of Thailand Post and the Pakistan Embassy in Bangkok. The Royal couple had visited Pakistan from 11-22 March 1962. The IStamp carries some memorable pictures of Their Majesties from that visit and also shows images relating to Pakistan’s scenic beauty as well as cultural heritage. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Thailand Sohail Mahmood has described the visit as a “landmark” in the journey of friendship between Thailand and Pakistan. In May 2011, the Pakistan Post issued a commemorative postal stamp to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the state visit by the King and Queen of Thailand.
