Pridi Banomyong International College (PBIC), Thammasat University, is delighted to announce the "Bangkok Thi Rak" Photo Competition, held in connection with its academic conference on Bangkok's history and present, "Bangkok Ti Rak" or "Beloved Bangkok" to be held at Thammasat University, Tha Prachan Campus on June 6th
The competition invites participants to capture their own visions of the city through photography. We prefer images that tell a local or personal story and have a unique flavor rather than standard "tourist-style" photography. As the conference aims to explore academically the dynamism and variety of Bangkok, the "perfectly tempered chaos" that so many call home, we are looking for photographs which reflect the city's uniqueness, variety and even its flaws.

Because we are particularly keen on seeing the younger generation's perspectives on the city, phone photography is allowed and particpants can enter simply by submitting their photo to our Line account. Photographs shall be judged by Danish photographer Ulf Svane, an award-winnng photographer and lead of the Bangkok Archive and Copenhagen Archive currently shown at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC). Selected entries will be publicly exhibited at our conference, and winning photographers will receive cash prizes.
Prizes include 10,000 THB for First Prize, 7,000 THB for Second Prize, 5,000 THB for Third Prize, and five runner-up prizes of 2,000 THB each.
Entries may be submitted via the QR code on the official competition poster. One person, one submission and there is no need for paperwork or details to submit. The deadline for submissions is 15 April 2026
