Bangkok--4 Sep--AirAsia
AirAsia, the low-cost airline closest to the heart of the Thai people has unveiled a massive promotional campaign encompassing all of its domestic destinations with “Local Hero”, a drive placing AirAsia’s own captains, pilots, flight attendants and ground staff at the forefront, and on billboards of every domestic destination in order to show passengers they are traveling in the care of family and friends while setting its sights on becoming the only airline to preserve and foster Thailand’s rich local cultures.
Mr. Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of Thai AirAsia, remarked that each and all of AirAsia’s employees are its main drivers and allow it to stay in the hearts of the Thai people, which has led to it growing into the country’s most frequently flying airline. He pointed out that AirAsia’s employees represent a wide spectrum of Thailand’s provinces, giving the airline a unique understanding of its many Thai passengers.
“Presently we fly to 12 domestic destinations (excluding Bangkok) and operate 3 flight hubs in Bangkok, Phuket and Chiang Mai. In the future we plan to have even more hubs so that we may offer more direct flights over a wider range of destinations. Once this occurs, we will be able to locate our employees in their hometowns and allow them to be close to the people with whom they are the most familiar. We believe this will be beneficial to them as well as our passengers, as they will receive a personal understanding and care” Mr. Tassapon said.
“Local Hero” has called upon AirAsia employees from every position and duty to represent the airline and show its passengers that they will be flying with family. The employees will be featured on billboards throughout AirAsia’s destination provinces, including; Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani, Nakhon Phanom, Hat Yai, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Surat Thani, Trang, Krabi, Phuket and Narathiwat. Passengers will be able to view their province’s representative and ‘Like’ their photo at www.facebook.com/AirAsiaThailand
Mr. Tassapon concluded by saying that AirAsia is determined to be the airline of the people of Thailand, wherever they may be, as can be seen by its support of annual local traditions such as Songkran, the Candle Festival of Ubon Ratchathani, the Fire Boat Festival of Nakhon Phanom and the Vegetarian Festival of Phuket. He assured that AirAsia plans to support many more such activities in the future so it may truly be the airline of Thailand.
