Westcon Group, a value-added distributor of category-leading unified communications, network infrastructure, data center and security solutions with a global network of specialty resellers, today announced it is further tapping into the small and mid-size enterprise (SME) market across Thailand. Leveraging the Avaya IP Office brand, the distributor officially introduced three master resellers in Thailand for Avaya IP Office.
Avaya IP office is a unified communications solution specifically designed for SMEs. The solution is aimed at helping businesses in Thailand perfect their communication systems and boost competitiveness ahead of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) establishment. The community is set to launch in 2015 with full regional economic integration.
Mr. Ray Teske, Managing Director - ASEAN, Avaya Thailand, says the firm is a communication-application leader and today the company is very pleased to have got the great partner like Westcon Group (Thailand) and to have witnessed its official appointment of three master resellers. The firm expects the master resellers to significantly increase distribution channels for Avaya IP office, allowing the product to reach out more to SMEs and prospective customers to get related installations/services more conveniently.
Mr. Jason Kwan, Country Manager, Westcon Group (Thailand) Co., Ltd. says Westcon’s extensive data center infrastructure, global security-solutions network, and network of highly-efficient retailers has helped customers dramatically expand their distribution channels. Westcon Group has more than 2,300 retailers in hand and in excess of 20,000 customers across the globe.
“We are extremely pleased to officially appoint Bangkok Telecommunication IT & OA Company Limited, Digitalcom Company Limited, and IES Interconnect (Thailand) Company Limited as our Master Resellers. These three firms are assigned to handle communications solutions and Avaya products, with a focus on customers needing PBX 32 — 150,” said Kwan.
According to several analysts, the gross domestic product (GDP) in Thailand is set to grow between four and five percent in 2012 — with SMEs being a major contributor. Kwan says Westcon is well placed to benefit from this growth: “We have one of the market’s broadest Avaya portfolios — from the enterprise down to the SME. With a range of solutions covering Unified Communications, Contact Center, Networking and Service — we feel Westcon is well positioned for success in this market in 2012.”
The appointment ceremony was held at Avaya’s Place. In addition to key Westcon and Avaya executives, also present were Mr. Santichai Chavitranuruk form Bangkok Telecommunication IT & OA Company Limited, Mr.Suwich Chitkasemsuk from Digitalcom Company Limited, and Mr. Chinnapat Chaisirisuwan from IES Interconnect (Thailand) Company Limited.
