Amata Corporation PCL has announced a major leadership restructuring, appointing former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, as its new Chairman of the Board of Directors.
The decision was finalized during Amata's Board of Directors Meeting No. 4/2026 on 14 May 2026, following the formal resignation of company founder Mr. Vikrom Kromadit from the chairmanship.
"A change in leadership at this juncture will significantly strengthen our corporate governance and enhance operational agility, allowing us to leverage the profound regional experience and expertise of a highly qualified leader," a senior Amata executive stated.
"It has always been Mr. Vikrom's unwavering intention to bring the finest talent to the company to ensure we seamlessly achieve our long-term vision of smart industrial cities, cross-border expansion, and continued sustainable growth."
Dr Parnpree, a highly respected technocrat, brings a wealth of high-level administrative, diplomatic, and economic policy experience to Amata.
He served as Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2023 to 2024 and has previously held prominent positions including Chairman of the Board of Directors at PTT Public Company Limited (2013-2014) and Vice Minister for Industry.
Over his career, he has been a key architect of international trade, serving as Thailand's Chief Negotiator for several Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and as a Thailand Trade Representative.
He holds a Ph.D. in Government and Public Administration from Claremont Graduate University and a master's in public administration from the University of Southern California.
Commenting on his appointment, Dr Parnpree expressed his commitment to steering Amata's multi-national portfolio toward an eco-friendly future.
"I am deeply honoured to assume the role of Chairman at Amata Corporation during such a transformative era for global trade and industrial infrastructure," Dr Parnpree said.
"Amata has long been a powerhouse in driving regional economic integration.
Moving forward, my focus will be on elevating our estates into smart, sustainable eco-cities that attract high-tech innovation, build resilient supply chains, and strictly align with global Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards to generate long-term value for all stakeholders."
Mr. Vikrom, whose foundational vision has guided Amata from its inception to managing and developing an extensive landbank of strategic land across Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, and Myanmar, noted that the restructuring creates an optimal division of labour.
"My dreams have always nourished this company and served as a compass guiding us toward creating regional industrial cities," Mr Vikrom said.
"By handing over the boardroom leadership to Dr Parnpree, Amata gains a chairman with unparalleled international stature and strategic depth.
This allows me to focus fully as CEO on our operational execution and continued development of our cities on the ground across the Greater Mekong Subregion, ensuring that our growth remains both continued and sustainable."
The boardroom shake-up comes as Amata builds out its regional infrastructure portfolio, which already boasts close to 150 square kilometres of land under development, more than 1,600 manufacturing and commercial outlets across the portfolio of 13 industrial city projects.
Amata Corporation PCL (Amata Corp) is structured as a regional leader in industrial development, overseeing 45 companies across four segments: Industrial Estate & Urban Development, Utilities, Services, and Holding Companies.
Guided by its 'all win' business philosophy, the company is committed to achieving balanced and sustainable growth that benefits all stakeholders. With Dr. Parnpree coordinating boardroom governance and international policy alignment, and Mr. Vikrom leading execution as CEO, Amata is firmly positioned to solidify its standing as the foremost developer of sustainable industrial cities in the Mekong sub-region.
