Virgin Active announced a multi-year global partnership with HYROX, the World Series of Fitness Racing, earlier this year. Along with the rest of the territories, this will see all of its Thailand clubs join the international HYROX Training Club network.
Thailand is one of HYROX's fastest-growing markets; the scale of demand was demonstrated at BYD HYROX Bangkok in March 2026, which expanded into a three-day event at BITEC and attracted more than 17,500 athletes and 21,000 spectators, marking a 100% year-on-year increase from 2025. Following the surge in participation, a second Thailand race in the year has already been confirmed for August 2026 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre.
Thailand is seeing a growing appetite for competitive fitness events, with more individuals turning to structured training programmes to elevate their performance. However, this performance focus is not always matched by equal attention to recovery. This gap is reflected in Virgin Active's 2026 Wellness Trends survey, where 55% of respondents identify recovery as the most important aspect of wellness, yet only 9% report regularly feeling fully rested.
As a leading social wellness club and expert in holistic well-being, Virgin Active is uniquely positioned to address this imbalance by offering an integrated approach that supports both performance and recovery within a single ecosystem.
Virgin Active Thailand introduces its official HYROX Training Club offering, delivering a comprehensive training experience that combines structured, certified coaching with a diverse range of training formats, complemented by dedicated recovery and restorative programmes designed to support sustainable, long-term progress.
The Virgin Active HYROX pathway includes:
- Official race-ready equipment across its clubs in Thailand
- Dedicated HYROX group classes from 18 May, workshops, and HYROX simulations.
- Structural guidance available in early July, delivered by coaches certified directly through the global HYROX Academy pathways, providing expert leadership for everyone from the "HYROX-curious" to seasoned athletes.
- Integration of recovery facilities and regeneration spaces, designed to support muscle recovery while meeting Thai consumers' growing interest in incorporating mind-body wellness practices into their routines.
- Access to HYROX event perks, such as priority race entry opportunities, and on-site community support at venues, turning intense competition into a shared, highly motivating social experience.
"Virgin Active's move into the HYROX space is a natural extension of our holistic approach to wellness, where performance and wellbeing are developed in tandem. Our official affiliation with HYROX builds on our existing high?performance training offering, introducing a new format through which members can train, while continuing to benefit from the recovery and wellbeing support needed to sustain long-term progress," said Julien Bera, Country Director of Virgin Active Thailand.
By integrating HYROX into its wider social wellness ecosystem, Virgin Active also responds to growing demand for credible, expert-led fitness experiences, with 55% of Thais considering certified expertise essential when seeking health advice.
Rue She, Head of Product, Virgin Active Southeast Asia, added: "HYROX demands more than intensity alone. Sustainable performance is built through the combination of smart programming, expert coaching, and consistent recovery, supported by overall well-being. Virgin Active is well-positioned to enable this, with clubs designed to go beyond traditional training environments by integrating performance-focused fitness with recovery, wellness, and community. This allows members to train effectively, recover with intent, and progress in a more balanced and sustainable way."
The HYROX Training Club experience launched in Thailand in May 2026 and is now available to all Virgin Active members. For more information and to discover an integrated approach to HYROX training, please visit: https://www.virginactive.co.th/en/promotions/hyrox-training-club
