  • Joining Forces with Public and Private Sector Partners to Host the "Mizuiku Water Hero Camp: Year 3" in Nakhon Nayok, Empowering Thai Youth through "Nature Classroom" to Foster Sustainable Water Stewardship

Suntory Beverage & Food (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a leader in health enrichment products under the BRAND's trademark in Thailand and Indochina, together with Suntory PepsiCo Beverage (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a manufacturer and distributor of beverages under the Suntory and PepsiCo brands in Thailand, have jointly launched the "One Suntory Mizuiku Program 2026" under the theme "No Water, No Life." With support from Suntory Holdings Limited, the companies are joining forces with partners across the public, private, and education sectors to host the "Mizuiku Water Hero Camp: Year 3" from 10-12 June 2026 in Nakhon Nayok. The camp aims to promote understanding of water conservation through hands-on learning experiences and inspire Thai youth to become a driving force for sustainable water stewardship.

Thailand continues to face evolving water-related challenges, including droughts, floods, and water quality issues. Fostering knowledge and awareness of water conservation among young people is therefore a critical foundation for nurturing environmentally responsible citizens who can play a leading role in protecting water resources and the environment, contributing to a more sustainable future for the country.

Now entering its third year, the "One Suntory Mizuiku Program" has been implemented in collaboration with the Department of Water Resources, the Pollution Control Department, and the Department of Climate Change and Environment under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, as well as Environmental Education Centre (EEC). The program continues to support the development of Thai youth through experiential learning and hands-on activities. Through the "Mizuiku Water Hero Camp," participating students engage in Edutainment activities through "Nature Classroom," enabling them to explore the relationship between forests, watersheds, and water resources, while applying their knowledge to everyday life.

Mr. Omer Malik, Chief Executive Officer, Thailand and Indochina, Suntory Beverage & Food (Thailand) Co., Ltd., shared that "Water resources are essential to both business operations and people's daily lives. At Suntory, we place great importance on sustainable water management, guided by our purpose: 'To inspire the brilliance of life, by creating rich experiences for people, in harmony with nature.' Since 2004, Suntory has been driving 'Mizuiku: the Education Program for Nature and Water' that originated in Japan, to promote understanding of the value of water resources and foster water and environmental conservation among young people through experiential learning in 'Nature Classroom.' The program has expanded to eight countries worldwide, including Thailand. In Thailand, Suntory Beverage & Food (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Suntory PepsiCo Beverage (Thailand) Co., Ltd. have been collaborating on the program under the 'One Suntory' concept since 2024, combining expertise and resources to build a long-term sustainability platform that empowers young people to learn, grow, and become a change agent in protecting Thailand's water resources. The initiative also contributes to the Suntory Group's global ambition to provide access to water education and safe water for 5 million people worldwide by 2030."

Mr. Tanuj Chadha, Chief Executive Officer, Suntory PepsiCo Beverage (Thailand) Co., Ltd., also shared that "Water resources are fundamental to the beverage industry and play a vital role in Thailand's economic development. Over the past two years, the 'One Suntory Mizuiku Program' has provided knowledge on water and environmental conservation to more than 19,700 students and teachers from 60 schools across Chonburi and Rayong. This year, we are expanding the program to Saraburi, one of the locations where we operate, to provide schools and young people with opportunities to learn about water conservation and drive meaningful conservation efforts within their communities. This achievement reflects the commitment of both companies to conducting business in line with our core values of 'Growing for Good' and 'Giving Back to Society,' creating positive impact on society and the environment alongside business growth. The program also enables our employees to contribute to society as volunteers, supporting learning experiences for young participants throughout the camp. At the same time, the program reflects the power of collaboration between the public and private sectors in advancing water conservation in a meaningful and tangible way. We sincerely hope that our continued partnership with stakeholders across all sectors will inspire and empower the next generation to become a driving force in sustainably protecting and managing water resources, contributing to a better future for Thai communities and society."

Mr. Alexander Simon Rendell, Chief Executive Officer, Environmental Education Centre (EEC) said, "Today, many areas are facing water-related challenges, including climate change, changing water quality, and increasing water stress, all of which can have long-term impacts on ecosystems and people's quality of life. Therefore, fostering knowledge and understanding of water resources from a young age is essential in preparing young people to become future leaders in protecting natural resources. The 'Mizuiku Water Hero Camp: Year 3' has been designed to enable participating students to learn through hands-on experiences and engagement with local communities. Participants will explore the 'journey of water' from upstream to downstream through field visits to Khun Dan Prakarn Chon Dam, Sarika Waterfall, and Ban Noen Makha Community Forest, helping them develop a practical understanding of the connections between water resources, ecosystems, and people's way of life. The camp also seeks to deepen participants' knowledge of watershed forests, biodiversity, the water cycle, and the impacts of climate change, while fostering sustainable water conservation and water resource management for the future."

Suntory Beverage & Food (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Suntory PepsiCo Beverage (Thailand) Co., Ltd. remain committed to advancing the "One Suntory Mizuiku Program" in Thailand and strengthening collaboration with partners across all sectors to expand learning opportunities in water resource and environmental conservation for Thai youth. Held over three days and two nights in Nakhon Nayok, the "Mizuiku Water Hero Camp: Year 3" brings together more than 500 students aged 10-12 and teachers from 30 schools across Chonburi and Saraburi for immersive, hands-on learning experiences in "Nature Classroom." This year, the camp also welcomes Mizuiku Alumni, winners of the program's 2025 competition, to share their journeys and inspire the current generation of participants. Following the camp, the program will continue through the "Mizuiku Water Model School" competition, encouraging participating schools to apply their knowledge by developing water conservation initiatives within their schools and extending their impact to surrounding communities. Winning schools from each province will have the opportunity to visit Japan to learn about the origins of the "Mizuiku" Program and sustainable water resource management practices, bringing valuable insights back to create positive change in their schools and communities. Both companies believe that the power of collaboration, together with fostering environmental awareness among young people, will help build a strong foundation for a sustainable future for Thailand.
