The University of Phayao (UP) presented the achievements of the Phayao Regional Office of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) at the national meeting on area-based development through science, research, and innovation, held on September 27-28, 2026, at Asia Hotel Bangkok. The UP delegation was led by Associate Professor Supakorn Pongbangpho, Ph.D.President, University of Phayao, together with Associate Professor Phanintra Teeranon, Ph.D.Assistant to the President, and Assistant Professor Santiwat Pithakpol, Ph.D.Director, Innovation and Technology Transfer Institute (UPITI).The Phayao Regional MHESI Office received two national certificates of recognition: the Success Case Award for "Enhancing Thailand's Learning Cities through Science and Technology" (Learning City) and the Outstanding Regional MHESI Office Award for the Northern Region. The recognition reflects UP's success in connecting knowledge, technology, research, innovation, and local partnerships to support people, city development, lifelong learning, and quality of life in Phayao.For the next phase, MHESI will further develop regional offices as a Master Platform under the concept "Thailand: A Nation of Masters." The approach aims to identify local potential, strengthen local excellence, and connect local strengths with national and international opportunities. Science, research, and innovation will continue to support local economic development, reduce inequality, and promote sustainable growth.
