MARLON HIRSH JOINS SHANGRI-LA HOTEL, BANGKOK AS RESIDENT MANAGER

Bangkok--17 Sep--Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok Kieran Twomey, vice president and general manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok, is pleased to announce the appointment of Marlon Hirsh as the five-star property’s resident manager. Prior to his new appointment, Mr. Hirsh was executive assistant manager — rooms at Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa, Sultanate of Oman. Mr. Hirsh, an American national, has more than 16 years of hospitality experience gained at five-star group hotels in Asia and the Americas, including Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, and Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts at Makati Shangri-La, Manila in 2006. Mr. Hirsh has worked in senior management positions in various Ritz-Carlton properties in guest services, rooms, housekeeping and laundry in St. Thomas, California, Bali and Singapore. He began his career at The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta (Downtown) in 1995, after graduation from the University of Alabama. Mr. Hirsh’s roles in previous positions involved quality improvement to continuously benchmark properties’ overall guest engagement experience, driving upselling programmes and encouraging employees’ participation in creating environmental conservation initiatives.
