In Fall/Winter 2012, adidas Originals gains power, speed and class in a collaboration with Porsche Design, bringing classic driving styles into the street. The collection is inspired by the iconic elements of Porsche racing and driving as well as the contemporary design and technology the brand is known for.
Porsche 911 S Shoe
Looking back to the Porsche 911 — which won in Monte Carlo three times in a row from 1969 — 1970 - this mid-cut model features a rubber heel element inspired by the cooling system of a Porsche rear engine.
With a sleek silhouette, the Porsche 911 S is its predominately white upper and splashes of red around the ankle padding, heel and tongue. A Porsche badge sits on the outer midsole that encompasses the brand's stylish aesthetic.
Porsche 917 Shoe (G63104)
The legendary Porsche 917 was the first Porsche car that won in Le Mans in 1970 and became one of the most successful sport cars of that decade. This silhouette takes its cues from the Porsche's rear engine, which can be seen on the perforated rubber heel. A distinctive Porsche badge sits on the midsole giving it a sharp twist, while another Porsche 917 badge is on the heel patch.
A combination of fabrics is used, including leather and patent in a mostly white exterior, giving it a sporty look, while the concave 3-stripes mark adds a sporty element. Small splashes of red appear on the tongue.
Porsche Typ 597 Jagdwagen Shoe
Grandfather of the Cayenne, the Typ 597 Jagdwagen built in 1954, directly influences this silhouette: a winter boot with finesse. The outsole's profile is inspired by the original Jagdwagen's tyre and the metal vintage Porsche logo. Premium leather is used on the upper which is mostly black while the ankle padding shows a hint of red.
The high top may be casual but it's also directional and comes with street appeal.
Porsche 917 Track Top
The iconic adidas track top gets a sleek upgrade with the917 Track Top, influenced by the 917 that won Le Mans in 1970and bears its logo on the chest. Another 917 embroidered logo,this time with the 24 Hour badge, sits on the left arm.
Giving off a sporty look with a polyester/cotton blend, the race car driver inspired track top has both a poppy red mesh panel on the chest and under the arms for ventilation. The antique gold zipper pull completes the retro look.
Porsche 917 Pant
There's a new approach taken on the classic adidas track pant, this time featuring the iconic 3-stripes on the inner leg. A Porsche 917 and Porsche badge sit just below the right pocket while a Porsche Design logo is on the back, just under the waistband. Never missing a detail, the thick drawstring features antique gold aglets sporting 'original driving' on it.
Porsche 917 Polo
Celebrating the legendary lineage of the Porsche 917 collection, the 917 tee features an archival photo print of the Porsche 917 racer and Porsche 917 sneaker pushing the pedal.
Its luxurious feel comes from the 180g 100% cotton single jersey fabric that is comfortable on the skin. A fabric loop tag wraps around the back of the tee, while the infamous Trefoil is embroidered on the sleeve.
