Seagate Technology (Thailand) Limited receives 2 National Best Practices Award on Labour Relations and Labour Welfare 2012 hosted by the Department of Employee Welfare and Labor Protection, Ministry of Labor. Seagate Teparuk plant in Samutprakarn province and the Korat plant in Nakorn Ratchasima province have been named the 2012 National Best Practices Award on Labour Relations and Labour Welfare (Large Enterprise without Labour Union category) for five consecutive years (from 2008 to 2012).
Good employee relations and well-planned employee welfare brings human security and enables employees to enjoy a better quality of life. Commitment from these employees leads to higher efficiency and higher productivity.
Mr. Jeffrey Nygaard, vice president and country manager, Thailand and Penang Operations, Seagate Technology (Thailand) Limited said, “The awards reflect our commitment to social and employee welfare throughout our several years of operations. Goals of the National Best Practices Award on Labour Relations and Labour Welfare 2012 include:-
? To encourage employers and employees to realize the importance of having good standard of labor relations and labor welfare practices
? To support employers to develop good employees relations system and offer them a template on employees relations between management and employees
? To enable employers to support employees relations and to have an improved model for employees welfare in the workplace
? To recognize various workplaces for their excellent employees relations and employees welfare so that they serve as role models for other workplaces in Thailand
These awards clearly reflect how the company has been proactive in taking care of it employees welfare and have adopted practices based on global trends and international standards. With this recognition, Seagate Thailand has the sustainable development strategy for the emergence of the AEC 2015.
