TripAdvisor?, the world’s largest travel site*, today revealed the top ten international destinations in 2012 that Thai travellers research when they plan their leisure or business trips **.
The United States topped the list of overseas countries for attracting the most interest from Thai travellers, followed by Japan and China. Amongst other long-haul destinations, the U.K., Italy and France took fifth, eighth and ninth places respectively.
It is also worth noting that four ASEAN countries made it to the list, clearly showing Thai travellers’ preference to visit countries where no visas are required, with shorter flight times.

5. U.K.
6. Malaysia
7. Indonesia
8. Italy

10. Laos
Domestically, TripAdvisor also noted that residents of Thailand love to travel to the beach, and underlined the attraction of popular seaside destinations such as Pattaya, Hua Hin, Phuket, Krabi, Cha-am and Koh Samui.
