Ramada Resort Khao Lak will be offering a romantic twist to this year's Loy Krathong festival, enticing expat and tourist couples to participate in this year's annual Festival of Light celebrations at Khao Lak.
The Loy Krathong festival takes place every year on the evening of the full moon of the traditional Thai lunar calendar's twelfth month, when the moon is at its brightest and the rivers are at their fullest. This year, that special night will fall on November 28th.
Although Loy Krathong is conventionally a time for renewal and reflections, Ramada Resort Khao Lak will instead be focusing on the unique, romantic timeframe of the festival to encourage foreign couples to join in the festivities of Thailand's most picturesque celebration.
Couples will be treated to an intimate dinner comprising a huge selection of Thai food and cocktails, as well as a demonstration on how to construct and personalise their very own lanterns from banana leaves and banana trunks.
That said, the day's events will not conclude with guests launching their floating Krathong lanterns downriver, but instead by launching Khom Loy floating lanterns into the night sky, as outsiders to Thailand are more familiar with this more widespread practice.
As the evening draws in, guests will be entertained by a traditional Sukhothai dance show, as well as another time-honoured tradition in Thailand - the Miss Noppamas beauty contest.
The evening will draw to its intimate conclusion at the Ramada Resort's pristine Khao Lak beachfront, where together, couples will release their personalised Khom Loy lanterns into the night sky, silhouetted by the world's most famous full moon.
Sophisticated and stylish, with an enviable location only a short ride away from the diving paradise of the dazzlingly blue waters of the Similan Islands and just a stone's throw from the trekking, kayaking and nature watching of the ancient rainforests of the Khao Sok national park, the Ramada Resort Khao Lak is the ideal getaway for lovers seeking distinctive, luxury services in a peaceful and private setting.
