World-class ice dance sensation to highlight this winter in Cotai
The timeless love story of Prince Siegfried and Odette, a beautiful woman transformed into a swan by an evil curse, will come alive at the Venetian Theatre, The Venetian? Macao-Resort-Hotel between November 21 and December 1, 2012. The much-loved tale of Swan Lake will be performed by a spectacular cast of international championship ice skaters, and features exhilarating new choreography, new effects and costumes. The Moscow-based Imperial Ice Stars has been touring worldwide in the past two years and it is finally coming to Macao with a dynamic new interpretation of this award-winning masterpiece, Swan Lake on Ice, Having won the Manchester Evening News ‘Best Special Entertainment Award’ in 2007, the breathtaking production will be performed to Tchaikovsky’s magnificent and well-loved score, against lavish backdrops and scenery created by one of Australasia’s leading scenic designers, Eamon D'Arcy. The ice skater performers of Olympic, World, European and National Championships have won over 200 competition medals among them. In addition, the costuming has also been refined for this unique theatrical extravaganza, with some glamourous and sophisticated designs from renowned costumier Albina Gabueva of Moscow's Stanislavsky Theatre, and made by the famous Bolshoi Ballet's costume cutters. Other acclaimed productions of the Imperial Ice Stars, one of the leading performers of theatrical ice skating, are Nutcracker on Ice, Cinderella on Ice and Sleeping Beauty on Ice.
Swan Lake on Ice is one of the major highlights of the first-ever Winter in Venice extravaganza at The Venetian Macao to be held from November 21 through January 13, 2013. Visitors who come to the integrated resort this winter will find themselves in the most majestic winter wonderland Macao has ever seen. This ultimate seasonal experience will feature the first and the only synthetic ice rink on the Cotai Strip, a brilliantly-lit white Christmas tree as well as a nightly spectacular light show themed on winter and Venice that will take spectators on an awe-inspiring colourful visual journey.
Tickets for the 3:45 pm or 7:45 pm, November 21 to December 1, 2012 performances of Swan Lake on Ice at the Venetian Theatre are on sale now at various Sands China box offices*.
